Early Burdz hosts art gallery hops through the best gallery districts in NYC and beyond — casual, social walks through contemporary art spaces that are open to everyone, from first-time gallery-goers to seasoned collectors. Free to attend, no art knowledge required, and a genuinely great way to meet interesting people while exploring world-class art.
❓ What is a gallery hop?
A gallery hop is a social walk through multiple contemporary art galleries in a neighborhood. At each stop you’ll view rotating exhibitions — often with complimentary wine and open hours during the evening. The format is self-paced and social, with no guide directing the group. Just art, good company, and natural conversation.
📍 Where do the hops take place?
We host gallery hops in NYC’s best gallery neighborhoods — Chelsea, the Lower East Side, Tribeca and beyond — as well as in other cities across our 25+ city network. The starting location changes based on the featured route and is sent by email the day before the event after you RSVP.
🗓️ When do they happen?
Gallery hops happen regularly throughout the week depending on the city. In NYC, Thursday evening hops are a recurring format — typically starting around 6:00 PM and running until 8:00 PM. Browse upcoming gallery hops by city on our events app.
🧑🤝🧑 Who attends?
Professionals, creatives, and art lovers mostly in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Many people come solo while others bring friends or coworkers. Gallery hops are one of the most welcoming formats we run — the shared experience of walking through art together makes conversation natural from the first gallery.
💸 Is it free?
Yes — gallery hops are free to attend. Just RSVP ahead of time to receive the starting location and any updates. Some galleries offer complimentary wine or refreshments during evening hours.
🍷 Will there be drinks?
Many galleries serve complimentary wine or light refreshments during evening openings. While we can’t guarantee it at every stop, it’s common to enjoy a glass or two along the way.
💕 Is there a gallery hop for singles?
Yes — Art Date Night is our gallery hop format designed specifically for singles. It follows the same format as a regular gallery hop — visiting 2–3 standout exhibitions in a vibrant neighborhood — but is age-specific, ratio-balanced, and intentionally designed for people who are open to meeting someone. After the crawl, the group walks together to a mixer at a rooftop bar or stylish lounge nearby. 🤔 Do I need to know anything about art?
Not at all. No prior art knowledge required. Whether you’re attending your first gallery or you’ve been collecting for years, you’ll feel comfortable and welcome. Our events are about discovery and connection, not art-world status.
🧭 How many galleries do we visit?
Typically 4–6 galleries per hop. The route is curated for a mix of variety and walkability within the neighborhood.
🧥 What should I wear?
Smart casual or gallery chic. You’ll be walking between venues so comfortable shoes are a good idea. No dress code — just be yourself.
📸 Can I take photos?
Yes — most galleries allow photography unless otherwise noted. Tag us on Instagram @earlyburdz if you post anything from the hop.
💬 Is it okay to come alone?
Absolutely — most guests do. Gallery hops are one of the easiest Early Burdz formats to attend solo because the shared experience of walking through art together creates natural conversation from the start.
📷 Will photos or video be taken?
Some hops have a host who captures content for our social media pages.
