The Early Burdz Chat App is a custom-built event coordination tool that powers our hostless events across 25+ cities. When you RSVP to an Early Burdz event, you’ll receive a link to your event’s private chat room — where you can meet other attendees, complete a chemistry quiz to find compatible people, coordinate in real time, and find the group using our live location map. Chat data expires seven days after the event, keeping things private and present-focused.
🏛️ What are hostless events?
Most Early Burdz events run without a traditional on-site host — the Chat App replaces the host entirely. We believe the best social experiences happen when everyone is on equal footing. No one is performing. No one is being directed. Just a curated group of people exploring art together, coordinated through the app. Before the event we set up icebreakers, curate the crowd, and configure the chat room. During the event our team provides support through the group chat while the chemistry matching system helps you find compatible people. The result is a natural, low-pressure environment where connection happens organically.
💡 What does the Chat App do?
The app is built around one goal: making it easy to meet people at real-world events without awkwardness or a host directing the room. Here’s what’s inside:
- Group chat — a shared event chat room where all attendees can coordinate, share updates, and connect before and during the event
- Chemistry Quiz — a short personality quiz that matches you with compatible guests based on interests, vibe, and what you’re looking for. Results unlock personalized match suggestions and conversation starters
- Direct messaging — private one-on-one chat with other attendees within the event context
- Dynamic Map — a live, anonymous location map showing where attendees are gathering in real time. Your location appears as an anonymous dot — no names or identifiers shown. Active only during the event window
- Frictionless join — join the group chat with just the click of a link. No login required
- Auto-expiration — Chat data and messages are automatically deleted seven days after the event ends
🗺️ How does the Dynamic Map work?
The Dynamic Map activates when you tap the map button inside your event chat. It shows anonymous dots representing other attendees who are sharing their location — no names, no identifiers, just dots. This makes it easy to find where the group is gathering at a museum, gallery, or nearby bar without needing a host to direct everyone. You can stop sharing at any time. Location data is deleted when the event ends.
🔐 Is my data private?
Yes. The Chat App is built around privacy-first principles:
- All messages and media are automatically deleted seven days after the event
- Location sharing is entirely optional and anonymous — no names or identifiers are attached to map dots
- You can join the group chat anonymously without revealing your identity
- You can stop sharing your location at any time with a single tap

When you RSVP to an Early Burdz event, you’ll receive an itinerary email the day before with a direct link to your event’s chat room. No download required — the app runs in your mobile browser. You can also browse upcoming events and join directly as a member here.

Yes — Early Burdz members can browse upcoming events and join event chat rooms directly from the app without needing to go through the events calendar. When you open the Chat App, you’ll see a list of active and upcoming events across your city. Click any event to join the chat room and start connecting with other attendees before the event begins. Yes — we’re exploring licensing the Chat App for museums, conferences, cultural institutions, and other event organizers who want to run app-coordinated social experiences.
